New Look - New Flavors - New Record

First things first, Good Bowls has a new look! The next time you’re out shopping, be on the lookout for our new packaging. As we continue to grow and expand across NC, we thought we should freshen up the look a bit. You can always find us on the shelves at Weaver Street Market, we’re now at UNC-Chapel Hill, Elon, and Campbell Universities too. We’ll be at more stores and colleges in the next few months.

Next, we’re extremely excited to announce that we are launching four new flavors! All four new flavors are vegetarian and will be hitting the shelves and available for home delivery the first part of December. Stay tuned for the big announcement on our site and Instagram account. Two of our new bowls feature plant-based ‘meat’ from our new partner, No Evil Foods.

The fresh flavors hitting the shelves are: Piedmont Pesto Al Orzo, a NC spin on the classic pesto dish; Wintry Mix, a bowl chock full of winter veggies and bleu cheese; Big Al’s Big BBQ Bowl, No Evil plant-based BBQ with roasted vegetables and a tangy NC BBQ sauce; and Huevos Rancheros Estilo Sureño, a classic with the twist of local NC grits featuring No Evil plant-based Chorizo, roasted peppers, mixed vegetables, and cheese.

Be ready to try all four next month!

Adding lentils to bowl at Angelina’s Kitchen

And last but probably most importantly, the October Pay-It-Forward set a new record with 334 bowls donated, cooked, and distributed.

Thanks to everyone that donated meals to the pay-it-forward program to help make it such a huge success!!

We had a large volunteer crew come out to this round’s partner restaurant, Angelina’s Kitchen and make quick work of the 334 meals, which were a delicious lemon-turmeric chicken with seasoned lentils over brown rice.

As always, Tych Cowdin and his team at Communities in Schools Chatham were extremely excited and grateful to have their freezer packed to the gills with healthy, delicious meals just in time for the holiday season.

They will spend the next two months distributing all the bowls to food-insecure families in the community and will be ready for the January Pay-It-Forward in the new year. So stay tuned for our new partner restaurant and for the announcement of when the next campaign kicks off…..help us break 500 meals next time!
