Pay-It-Forward Roars Ahead with PBO Eats!

As we finally make our way out of this pandemic there are plenty of families still struggling with food insecurity and many local businesses that are trying to get back on their feet. Good Bowls is moving ahead with its mission to promote food equity and to support local businesses with our win-win pay-it-forward campaign.

On May 26th we launched the campaign with the help of our partner PBO Eats. For every meal that is donated through our site, Kristin Bulpitt at Copeland Springs Farm and Kitchen will cook up a nutritious and delicious meal at her restaurant that is then donated to a family in the community. Each month we plan to rotate to a new local restaurant in town so that everyone has a chance to share in the good will.

We started this campaign with the goal of having 50 meals donated over the two-week period.  We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community, surpassing our goal within the first 24 hours.  But not to worry, we’re keeping the campaign open until June 9th so if you want to help out with food insecurity or support your local restaurateurs, you still have time. www.EatGoodBowls.com/pbo-eats

When the campaign closes on June 9th, Kristin and her Copeland Springs Kitchen team in Pittsboro will make up as many Mexican-inspired bowls as have been ordered with the help of a volunteer brigade from Good Bowls/Equiti Foods and PBOeats. We’ll deliver the bowls to our community partner, Communities In Schools to distribute to food insecure families in town.

Check back here in mid-June for photos and videos of the pay-it-forward process and our partners. Or if you decide to donate a meal today, after we deliver the meals we’ll send you an email with a link to show you how we’re putting your  generous donation to work.

If you are a restaurant in Pittsboro interested in participating or a community organization that can help distribute the food, contact us today.
