Buy a bowl, give a bowl for a double win …with no extra COVID calories!

Good Bowls works with Alex at Compadres restaurant out of Pittsboro, NC to help alleviate food insecurity during the pandemic

The past year has been hard on us all. Local restaurants and small businesses have been particularly hard hit and more people than ever are suffering from food insecurity. While things are getting better slowly, it will be a long time before we’re back to normal. An EASY way to help, from the comfort of your home, is to order a bowl from a local restaurant online that will be donated to someone in need.  The restaurant gets your business and a family gets a healthy meal, AND you don’t add any extra calories to your day/plate! (How many of us are eating more than we really should just trying to support local food businesses!?)

Good Bowls works with local restaurants, organizations like Communities in Schools, and other local partners to help provide food for families in need.

Equiti Foods is teaming up with our neighbors in Chatham County. Using our online platform, culinary expertise, and packaging equipment, we’re working with restaurants to tweak their recipes toward healthy (not too much) to create their own version of a Good Bowl that can be frozen, stored, and then donated to someone in need.

During this month’s campaign, we are working with Compadres Restaurant out of Pittsboro, NC and with community partners in Chatham County, like Communities in Schools, to donate to residents in need of a nutritious meal. We’ll be featuring different restaurants in the  Pittsboro area in collaboration with the grassroots Pittsboro Eats  Organization.
