Many Hands Make Plentiful Bowls and Full Bellies.

The mission at Equiti Foods and Good Bowls is to support food equity in North Carolina and in the local food system. Our Pay-It-Forward program is just one of the ways that we're working to get healthy, local food to the families in North Carolina that need it while also supporting local restaurants.

During each Pay-It-Forward campaign, we collect online meal donations from people in the community. After the campaign has wrapped up we work with a locally owned restaurant to prepare all the meals and then donate them to food insecure families in our communities. By partnering with a different local restaurant for each campaign we're supporting local businesses and feeding people in need, it's a win-win for everyone.

Barbara adds the crucial element, the homemade jalapeño cashew cream sauce.

For our campaign in June and July 2021 we worked with Pittsboro EATS and partnered with Kristin Bulpitt at Copeland Springs Farm and Kitchen. Over 125 meals were donated so we spent a morning preparing nutritious meals, sourced right from Kristin's farm, and then distributed them through our partner, Communities in Schools.

Good Bowls operations manager Morghen Phillipi works side by side with Kristin to cut over 20 pounds of freshly picked zucchini.

For our next campaign we’ll be working with Pittsboro Eats again and partnering with the locally-owned restaurant The Root Cellar. If you want to get involved with our effort to support food equity in the community check the site again in early August for a link to donate meals or follow us on Instagram at @good_bowls to get regular postings about our campaign.
